The idea for Heart-Led Society found me in the spring of 2024 while wandering through the streets of Barcelona. I stumbled upon a mural—a futuristic scene with the words “The Future is Now.” It showed a girl in a space suit, cables weaving around her, a lantern glowing beside her. And in that moment, something clicked. I saw a vision: a lantern with a glowing heart inside.
From there, everything grew naturally. I knew I wanted a hand holding the lantern, representing humanity, society, and the individual’s power to choose their path. Art has always been my way of communicating something deeper, so this felt like the perfect language—the heart, the light, the hand. The leaves surrounding it added a sense of grounding, bringing balance between energy and stability.
The world has felt heavy in recent years. Darkness has been impossible to ignore. And yet, through all of it, I found myself quietly refusing to give in. This design became a statement of that defiance. A reminder that we, as individuals, shape the world around us. That we can choose to create from the heart, lead with the heart, move from the heart. Because real change starts there.
What Does It Mean to Be Heart-Led?
For me, being heart-led is a journey, not a destination. It’s a choice I make every single day—sometimes intentionally, sometimes without even realizing it. It means choosing love over hate, understanding over judgment. It means protecting my energy, being mindful of what I consume, and leaning into peace, love, and creativity over negativity.
That doesn’t mean I ignore the state of the world. Quite the opposite. I see the chaos, the division, the fear. I feel it, deeply. But I refuse to let it consume me. I don’t believe in hiding my head in the sand or pretending everything is fine. I acknowledge the darkness, but I also choose another way. Instead of being paralyzed by it, I channel it into creation, into action, into light. I believe that’s where real power lies—not in avoiding reality, but in consciously shaping a new one.
There are days when it feels overwhelming. When anger, fear, and exhaustion creep in. But no matter how far I drift, I always return to my center—to the quiet reminders, the small moments of beauty, the things that truly matter. I know what happens when I let darkness take over because I’ve been there. I spent years in a place of melancholy and apathy, and I saw where that road led. So, I chose a different one.
The Symbolism Behind the Design
When I created the Heart-Led Society sweatshirt, I wasn’t just making something to wear—I was creating something to carry a message. The heart and lantern hold deep symbolic meaning: the heart as our guiding force, the lantern as the light we choose to shine. The bold colors and linework tie naturally into my artistic style, blending my background as a painter and tattoo artist into something tangible, something people can take with them.
This isn’t just a design. It’s a quiet declaration. A symbol of warmth and strength. A reflection of the path I’ve walked and the philosophy that shapes my work.
Why Heart-Led Society?
The name Heart-Led Society came to me unexpectedly. Heart-led was obvious—it ties directly to the design. But Society? That was something more. It gave it a sense of mystery. Is it a secret society? A club? A movement?
It’s whatever you make it. It’s a quiet rebellion against cynicism. A space for those who believe in something deeper. A reminder that we are not alone, that we are all part of something bigger, and that the light within us will always guide the way if we let it. I want people to feel that when they see this piece. To feel empowered, hopeful, seen. To know that they belong.
A Reflection of My Art and Purpose
Surreal and visionary themes have always shaped my work. Whether in paintings or tattooing, my art has always reflected my journey, beliefs, and way of seeing the world. Heart-Led Society is an extension of that—a piece of my soul made tangible. It’s a reminder that we all have the power to create meaning, to shape our own reality, to choose light even when darkness looms.
